Zoom FAQs

Where do I download the latest version of Zoom?

You can download the latest version of Zoom on their website.
How do I use Zoom on my PC or Mac?
Once you have Zoom downloaded, you can follow the steps provided on the Zoom website for getting set up.
Do you need an account to use Zoom?
A Zoom account is not required to join our events as a participant.
A Zoom account is only required if you need to create your own meetings and send invitations to participants. Having a Zoom account allows you to create your own Instant Meetings or Schedule Meetings. An account also allows you to access your personal settings, where you can update your profile or upgrade your plan.
How do I signup for Zoom?
You can sign up for a free Zoom account at zoom.us/signup
How much does Zoom cost?
You can join our Zoom events for free.
A basic Zoom license is also free, though you can pay for an account to get more advanced features if you want to host your own meeting.
How do I join a Zoom meeting?
You can join a meeting by clicking the link in the email we send you from Elevent. These emails are received about 1 hour before the start of an event, e.g. emails are sent at 10am for an 11am event.
How do I join computer/device audio?
On most devices, you can join computer/device audio by clicking Join Audio, Join with Computer Audio, or Audio to access the audio settings.
Checkout the Zoom help section on connecting your audio if you have trouble.
Can I use a Bluetooth headset?
Yes, as long as the Bluetooth device is compatible with the computer or mobile device that you are using.
Do I have to have a webcam to join on Zoom?
While you are not required to have a webcam to join a Zoom Meeting or Webinar, you will not be able to transmit video of yourself without one. You will continue to be able to listen and speak during the event, and view the webcam video of other participants and presenters even without a camera.
Can I record a Zoom event?
We ask that participants do not take any recordings - video or audio - or photos (either by taking screen captures or with additional devices like phones or cameras) of our events. This is to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants and to protect the rights of any artists and their work we may share during a Zoom event.
Out On Screen may record events from time to time for our own records or to share later. When we do so, we will notify all participants prior to starting the recording so that they can choose to have their cameras on or off during the recording. We will also notify participants when we have stopped the recording so they can choose to turn their cameras back on if they so desire.
How do I reset my Zoom password?
You can reset your password at zoom.us/forgot_password. Please follow the steps provided by Zoom. We cannot reset your Zoom password for you.

My video/camera isn't working on Zoom.

First, try testing your video before joining a meeting.
To do so, sign into your Zoom account then click your profile photo. Next, click Settings and then the Video tab. You will see a preview of your video from the camera that is currently selected for use with Zoom. If it isn't working, you can try selecting a different camera if one is available.
If you are in a meeting, you can access your Video Settings by clicking the up arrow next to the camera icon.
You can find more troubleshooting support for your camera on the Zoom website.
Zoom audio isn't working on my mobile device.
Audio issues on Zoom could be caused by a number of things. Please review Zoom's own  troubleshooting guide on their website for more information.
If you encounter other Zoom issues, or your problem isn't resolved by following the steps above, please  submit a request directly to Zoom support.
